The movie wonder will follow the #choosekind event (sunset)

Join us as we #choosekind. In conjunction with the July 20th movie, additional pre-event activities will include "Kindness Stations", Camp Fair Oaks short film "Kindness, Why it Matters", and much more. Kindness bags will be given to the first 100 children who visit the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District booth. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to #choosekind.

Kindness Rocks (hosted by SactoCaliRocks): "Spread a little joy, one painted rock at a time!" Make and take your own rock. Learn about the new craze that's spreading around the US. Representatives from SactoCaliRocks will be on site teaching best paint practices and etiquette.

Compliment Cards (hosted by Fair Oaks Youth Advisory Board): Create your very own compliment card to give to a special friend or brighten a strangers day.

Messages of Hope (hosted by "Mental Illness: It's not always what you think" project): Share a positive message of hope to provide inspirational reminders to take home or to share with others.

Hugs with Rocky + Photo Booth (hosted by Rocky the Rooster): Give Rocky the Rooster a hug or high five, then strike a pose with our kindness photo props. Use #choosekind and #forpd to spread kindness.

Letters from Home to our Armed Forces (hosted by Sacramento Blue Star Moms): Take a moment to thank a Service Member. Join the Sacramento Blue Star Moms to learn how to support Veterans and deployed Service Members. Write a letter of gratitude and support, Sacramento Blue Star Moms will ensure the letter is sent to those serving.

Friendship Bracelets (hosted by Girl Scout Troop #886): Make a friendship bracelet for a new or old friend.

Acceptance Puzzles (hosted by Cub Scout Pack #215): Create your very own "Everyone Fits In Here" puzzle.

World Kindness Community Art Project (hosted by Sacramento Public Library Fair Oaks branch)

Knitting Smiley Face Project (hosted by Believe In Kindness): Write a kind note and paint a smiley face that will later be sewn to a beanie that will be received by a child going through cancer treatment in South America. Kindness Wall (hosted by Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District): Need inspiration or have an idea on how to be kind? Help us come up with 100+ ways to spread kindness.

Kindness Bags: First 100 children who visit the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District Booth will be given a Kindness Bag filled with goodies and kindness challenges. 


Choose Kind ChallengePrior to the event, Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District challenges each and every kid to complete the #choosekind challenge. Bring the completed challenge to the #choosekind event for a certificate and special prize. Pick up your #choosekind challenge in the District office or print it by clicking here.
