The District Office is open:

The District Office is closed on the following Holidays:

All parks open at 7:00 a.m. 365 days a year.
All parks close at Dusk, which is approximately:
- 7:00 p.m. from October to March, and approximately 9:00 p.m. from April through September
- With the exception of the Miller Park Tennis Courts which closes at 10:00 p.m.
- With the exception of the Fair Oaks Park Softball Fields which closes at 10:30 p.m. / 11:00 p.m.

The Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District currently owns, operates and maintains ten parks and eight facilities.

The District allows bounce houses at Fair Oaks and Miller Parks only when renting the Picnic areas. The bounce houses can only be set up in designated areas of the park. The District requires that the renter supply an original copy of the Bounce House Company's Liability Insurance naming the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District as additionally insured for $1,000,000 for the day of the event. Documentation of insurance must be on file at the District Office 30 days prior to the event. The District can provide a list of the bounce house companies whose insurance is current and on file at the District.

Yes. Reserved picnic areas are available on a first come, first serve basis if they are not rented or reserved. Please contact the Parks On-Call number at 916-240-3651 during operating hours to find out if a specific BBQ area has been rented. Please only call the same day that you are interested in using the area. Any calls made prior to your day of interest will be directed to the District office.

Yes, both charcoal and propane BBQs are allowed. Please dispose of charcoal, grease, or other waste properly.

Alcohol is allowed in district parks with the exception of: Plaza, Village, and Bannister Parks.
However, no glass bottles are allowed in any parks.

The County of Sacramento requires all dogs to be on a leash when in public. Penalty is enforceable by Animal Control or the Sheriff's Department. The Vernal Pools are federally protected land. A dog entering the Vernal Pools transmits foreign horticultural substances (e.g. fertilizers, grass seed, etc.). The Department of Fish and Game and the Vernal Pool Management Plan require the posting and enforcement of the prevention of dogs in the Vernal Pools.

The primary purpose of the parking lot is for users of Bannister Park, not river access.
Bannister Park Parking Regulations are as follows:
- Monday through Friday before 5:00 p.m., up to 3 hours, permit not required
- Monday through Friday after 5:00 p.m., parking permit only
- Weekends and Holidays all day, up to 3 hours, permit not required
Parking violations are enforced by the County of Sacramento Parking Enforcement Division. Parking permits are not sold to the general public, they will only be issued to permitted users of Bannister Park.

Yes, the skate park is located at Fair Oaks Park, 11549 Fair Oaks Blvd. There is no fee to use this facility. Helmets, knee-pads and elbow pads are required.

Facility reservations are taken Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Facility reservations may be made up to one year in advance.

The District's Refund Policy is as follows:
- Full refund will be given if the Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District cancels the program or if the participant is unable to attend for medical reasons.
- No refunds will be issued after the class or program has had its second meeting.
- All refund requests will be approved or denied by the Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District.
- All refund checks will be processed through the County of Sacramento and mailed within 4 to 6 weeks.
- The Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District reserved the right to adjust the policy, depending upon the circumstances and the severity of the situation.
- The online convenience fee is non-refundable.
- All refunds must be accompanied by a refund request form.

No solicitation, vending, advertising, or signposting is allowed in the parks, unless approved by the Recreation and/or Parks & Facilities Manager. Please submit all posting requests to Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District Office, 4150 Temescal St., Fair Oaks, Ca 95628.
