Welcome to Rocky’s Roost!
Hi everyone, Rocky the Rooster here! I’m the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District mascot and love everything about this awesome community!
I’m looking forward to meeting you at one of our special events! You can expect to see me in springtime at the Easter Eggstravaganza, during the summer at the Kid’s Bike Festival, in September at the Fair Oaks Chicken Festival, and in December at Christmas in the Village.
Follow me on Facebook!
Head on over to my very own Facebook page so we can be friends and follow each other along in our adventures! In the meantime, you can learn a little bit about me below in my most recent interview with the District.
What is your role here at the district?
I’m the mascot…of course! My role is to come to events, programs, classes, and meetings to mingle with the community and enjoy the beautiful parks. My goal is to keep everyone smiling and take lots of pictures! If you see me, please come say hello and snap a few pics with me for the District website and activity guide. You could be featured in our next guide!
What is your favorite District event?
Well that would be the Chicken Festival, which just happens to be the week of my birthday every year. I love the music, food, vendors, and extremely large crowd of people. I get to take lots of pictures and even be on stage throughout the day. Sometimes I sneak in a dance or two on the stage in Village Park, which is where the Kids Park is located each year. And since I’m an “early riser” I make sure to visit the Pancake Breakfast first thing in the morning so that I am ready for the day! The third Saturday in September you can be sure to always find me in the Village of Fair Oaks for the Annual Fair Oaks Chicken Festival. Hope to see you there!
What is your motto?
Fair Oaks is the place to be! What’s not to love….we are located right next to the beautiful American River, we have a wonderful Village area that is booming with shops and great places to eat, we have numerous special events, great community partner groups and organizations, large sports fields, a great tennis court facility, and so much more! Fair Oaks is a great place to live, work, and play!
Where do you spend most of your time?
That’s a hard question to answer because I really do try to be all over Fair Oaks so that I can meet as many people as possible. In the summer time I enjoy being in the Village of Fair Oaks on Thursdays for the Concerts in the Parks whenever I can. In the spring, I enjoy visiting Fair Oaks Park to enjoy the Easter Eggstravaganza, as well as visiting Phoenix Park for the Fair Oaks Little League’s Opening Day. In the fall, I especially enjoy the cooler weather, but my main focus is still the Chicken Festival in September. There are just too many great places in Fair Oaks to list!
